Take Some Time For Yourself This Weekend!

Ah! A holiday weekend! Just what I needed. I'm teaching Entrepreneurship in the Arts at Wichita State University for my seventh semester, and although we're only three weeks into it, I think we're all ready for a little break.

Teaching college classes entirely online this semester is a significant change. I'm reinventing the classes and how we interact to cope with online learning. Thankfully, I've been working on this new way to teach since Finishing School classes went online in March.

For those who are getting ready to start school with their children in this next week, I hope you'll take some time off this weekend. I know a lot of my friends that have children are feeling apprehensive about getting back to school.

We are in such a strange time in our history, and we're all feeling the pressure. Parents, please be easy on yourself and your students as we adapt. Teaching coping skills and grace during difficult situations through your example can be just as impactful as reading, writing, and arithmetic.

I know I honestly am not taking care of myself right now. I'm not getting enough sleep, movement, or nature, and my eating habits are atrocious. That's why I'm going to take a pause this weekend for some self-TLC. I hope you can too, if even for a little while.

Here are the recordings of the YouTube live videos of the first two episodes of Take a Pause: COVID Self-Care Series to get you started. Each episode is only 30 minutes long, packed with tips for quick, easy actions we can take right now to help cope. Grab the beverage of your choice, kick back, and enjoy.
