About the event:

The August primary election includes a proposed constitutional amendment that would change how Kansas Supreme Court justices are selected. Join us for a discussion of what’s on the ballot, how the primary election process works, and what the proposed changes could mean for Kansans. Whether you’re just learning about the amendment or already following the issue closely, this conversation will provide the context you need before casting your vote.


We are meeting at Flying Pig Improv's new location at 2320 E. Douglas Ave. at Grove, 6 to 8 PM.

Justice Carol A. Beier

Justice Carol A. Beier 


Carol A. Beier is a former Kansas Supreme Court Justice. Appointed in 2003 by Governor Kathleen Sebelius, she served until her retirement in September 2020. Governor Bill Graves had previously appointed her to the Kansas Court of Appeals, where she served for more than three years. Before Justice Beier’s time on the bench, she practiced at Foulston & Siefkin in Wichita and Arent Fox in Washington, D. C., and worked as a Georgetown Law fellow at the National Women’s Law Center as a law clerk for James K. Logan of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is married and has three mostly perfect children and four absolutely perfect grandchildren.

Nicole M. Revenaugh


Nicole M. Revenaugh is a founding partner of Irigonegaray & Revenaugh in Topeka, Kansas, and has nearly 15 years of experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury, wrongful death, insurance disputes, and civil rights matters throughout Kansas. A graduate of Washburn University School of Law, she is a dedicated advocate committed to helping individuals seek justice and accountability.


In addition to her legal practice, Nicole has held leadership roles with the Women Attorneys Association of Topeka, the Kansas Women Attorneys Association, and the Washburn University School of Law Alumni Association. She has also been active in civic and political engagement efforts across Kansas and was recognized with GO Topeka’s Women of Influence Rising Star Award. Nicole is a respected voice on issues of justice, equity, and access to the legal system.

Randi Thimesch has worn many hats with the League of Women Voters of Wichita Metro, including Treasurer and Communications Chair, and now serves as Co-President. She’s passionate about voting rights, sustainability, and making civic engagement more accessible to everyone. With a strong background in nonprofit work, Randi brings valuable leadership to the board and enjoys mentoring fellow volunteers. She also serves on the City of Wichita Sustainability Integration Board and spends her free time researching her family history.

Jill D. Miller is an entrepreneur, educator, author, and community leader who has spent her career helping people navigate change and make informed decisions. Through her consulting company, Creative Solutions, she has worked with entrepreneurs and organizations since 1998, and she currently serves as Program Director of the Empowered Senior Seminar Series.


Jill is also an adjunct professor at Wichita State University, Headmistress of the Finishing School for Modern Women, and founder of the Badass Women of Wichita Alliance. A frequent speaker, facilitator, and event host, she is passionate about fostering meaningful conversations that educate, empower, and connect the community.
