Do you feel like the top of your head is about to pop off? All the stress of the past few years has been building, compounding daily with everything happening in the world. Join us for an informative discussion with a panel of physical and mental health practitioners on productive and destructive uses of anger, boundaries, and other techniques to protect your health and peace of mind.

This event is free and open to the public. 

Panelists:

Amber Carter, LMFT - Therapist

Amber Carter is a licensed marriage and family therapist that is currently practicing in a large group private practice and is opening her own private practice, Amber Carter Therapy, this fall.

Amber spent the first 15 years of her professional career empowering women and families in poverty through non-profit organizations. Through these experiences, she realized her heart was being pulled to mental health and changed her focus, but not her passion. Through therapy, Amber offers a collaborative approach with her non-judgmental acceptance to all clients, offering a welcoming and safe space where people of all backgrounds can feel empowered to achieve their own change. Amber is an LGBTQIA ally passionate about treating complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and relationship / family conflict with individuals, couples, and family systems.

Amber was born and raised in Texas and has made her home in Wichita, Kansas since 2008 with her husband and two sons. Adventuring outdoors is her happy place, whether that be on the lake with her new paddleboard or sitting in the shade on her deck with a good book.

Michelle Vann – Founder, Sisters Can We Talk

Michelle Vann is a Confidence Coach, founder, and CEO of Vanntastic Solutions. Michelle helps women achieve a healthy balance in their lives by dissolving the mindset issues that keep them stuck. She is also the founder of Sistahs Can We Talk, a non-profit the uses a Healthy Me initiative to provide resources for women to overcome the social determinates of health. Michelle is the author of two books, Stop the Merry-go-round I want to Get Off and Help along the journey, and a co-author of the anthologies Daily Dose of Declarations and Becoming a Shero. She is currently creating a Clutching My Pearls series that will launch in the winter. In addition, Michelle is a mother, a pastor’s wife, an educator, and a public speaker.

Luisa M Taylor DNP, MPH, APRN, FNP-C - Nurse Practioner

Born in Lima, Peru, Luisa Taylor has been calling Wichita home since 1999. She attended Newman University and graduated with a Bachelor's in Nursing. She went on to receive her Master's in Public Health and Doctorate in Nursing, both from Creighton University. Today she works as a Nurse Practitioner at FreeState Healthcare. Outside of work, Luisa channels her energy in helping vulnerable groups of people from all walks of life through non-profit volunteering. She has been affiliated with the Junior League of Wichita, Project Access, BabyTalk, the Wichita Children's Home, and the League of Women Voters. Luisa's efforts in improving her local community have been recognized by multiple organizations including The Association for Junior Leagues International, Children's Mercy, the Wichita Business Journal, the Kansas Health Foundation, and Dress for Success.

Janet Federico, MBA,, MFA – Illustrator, Speaker, Author

Janet Federico is a writer, illustrator, and private diamond agent from Washington, DC now based in the Midwest who has been featured in Elephant Journal, Writer’s Digest, and The Mighty. In 2020, Janet

launched Owl Medicine with local poet, Jovana Johnson, which provides greeting cards and art products for the situations we don’t usually talk about.

As a survivor of violence, Janet works to change the conversation around long-term survivorship and to educate others about the reality of living with trauma in the aftermath. Janet holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Fiction, a Masters of Business Administration, and is a Diamonds Graduate of the Gemological

Institute of America.

Cynthia Killian – writer, speaker, psychic

I am a professional psychic-medium, channeler, and astrologer. I am also an author of several metaphysical & spiritual based pamphlets, and I regularly conduct classes, seminars, teleseminars, and interactive facebook chats to help assist others awaken their own spiritual & psychic potential. Douglas Avenue from 6 to 8 PM for discussion and actions that build community, champion non-profits, and develop our badassery. Complimentary appetizers and soft drinks provided by the PourHouse.
