About the event
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our October panel will focus our discussion on breast cancer awareness and prevention of the disease that affects 2.3 million women worldwide. Approximately 13% (about one in eight) of U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer in the course of their life, and those rates have increased slightly by 0.5% per year. Breast cancer is still one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in U.S. women, second only to lung cancer. This disease doesn’t affect only women. U.S. men make up 1 of every 100 breast cancer diagnoses in the country.
Our panel discussion will feature experts and survivors who will share information on breast health, the latest practices for detecting and preventing breast cancer, treatment options, reconstruction, and other important considerations that are often overlooked.Â
We are meeting at the new location for Flying Pig Improv at Douglas Ave. and Grove…
