Does the idea of retirement feel like stepping into Heaven’s waiting room or a grand new adventure? No matter which stage of your career you’re in, it’s never too late or too early to explore the possibilities of rewiring to do something different for a change of pace.

In this informative panel discussion, experts will discuss how to prepare for the practical concerns of retirement, cope with the complications of making a significant career change, and the alternative options retirement can take to create a plan custom-fitted for your lifestyle.

Cecilia Green

After living in Wichita for almost 30 years, Cecilia Green, a vice president at Associated Advertising, moved to the Chicago area in 1990 when her husband Darrell took a job at the Art Institute.

There she entered Chicago’s nonprofit world, creating and heading Public Relations departments for two professional associations. After retiring from the PR profession, Cecilia helped create an arts council and founded its arts center in Bartlett IL, where she volunteered as its executive director for 20 years.

The Greens moved back to Wichita in 2021, where she has “rewired” to take on some exciting new roles, like being on the Creative Planning team for the Badass Women of Wichita Alliance.

Frances Seidl

Frances Friederich Seidl BA, MN, RN is currently in private practice as a consultant and educator with a specialty in Gerontology. Education and/or consultation is being provided for Critical Access Hospitals, Nursing Facilities, and other facilities including Starkey Inc.

Professional education includes a diploma in Nursing from Mercy School of Nursing, Ft. Scott, KS, a baccalaureate degree in Behavioral Science from Kansas Newman College, a Master's degree in Nursing with an emphasis in Gerontology from Wichita State University.

Nursing practice in the past include Director of Nursing Education for Great Plains Hospital Association; staff nursing and supervisory positions in urban and small rural hospitals in all specialty areas, office nurse for a General Practice Physician, Director of Nursing in a 100 bed skilled facility, Director of a hospital­based skilled unit, Faculty in Wesley School of Nursing, Assist Professor in the Nursing Division of Kansas Newman College; American Hospital Association/Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Swing Bed Program; consultant for hospital-based skilled care for the Dayton, Ohio Hospital Association.

Publications include articles and manuals on the Swing Bed Program, Geriatric Nursing Care Plans published by Mosby Publishing Co. "Nutritional Assessment­A Cooperative Venture" was published in Topics of Clinical Nutrition.

Currently, membership is held in Sigma Theta Tau(Nursing honor society), Board Member for St. Francis of Assisi Parish Nurse Ministry, Health Concepts Foundation, and Sedgwick County Department on Aging Advisory Board.

Ashley Thill

With a passion for developing people and relationships, Ashley Thill is a community leader with the talent to identify potential in both organizations and it’s employees, by breaking down the barriers to ensure their success. As the Founder of A Z Advisory Group, she has installed an abundance mindset within her team and clients to achieve greater results through collaboration, adaptability, and communication.

The ambition to persevere through any challenge started in 2009. After working 15 years in the wealth management industry, she returned to her family’s construction company, Zernco Inc., when her step-father, Dave Zerngast, asked her to manage the business through a transition as he prepared for retirement. After three years, Dave appointed her as the new CEO and retired from the organization. Ashley became the majority owners later that year and under her leadership, through her implementation of progressive employee development programs, a resilient company culture was built.

Retiring from Zernco as CEO in 2019, Ashley now shares her experience to coach executives and business owners across the county. She focuses on coaching her clients to align their goals personally, and organizationally; creating sustainability in their business, while allowing them to find freedom from that business success, developing and empowering their employees and leadership teams to achieve greater results.

When she is not coaching or getting involved in her local community, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott Thill, and her five children (one son and four daughters.) Her favorite personal activity is walking around her homestead gaining inspiration for her upcoming dream home project, taking photographs and painting images from nature.
