Yet, people often feel embarrassed or ashamed they can’t “get over” what happened, unaware that it takes fresh insights to get unstuck and move forward. In this hands-on class, you’ll discover the truths about trauma, awareness around how it affects us, coping techniques to reconnect with your resilience, and how to let go and gain perspective to move on to happily ever after.

Wednesday, August 16,  6 to 8:30 What if you could live your life exactly the way you want, on your terms? When you let go of what is expected and let yourself become who you are, you open the door to true happiness. In this interactive class, you’ll learn how to listen to your inner wisdom and move past self-doubt and fear to create what you most want.

Speak with Power

Wednesday, September 6th Do you feel heard and respected? Women have received a lifetime of programming, learning to soften our voices in the words and tones we use and the nonverbal messages we send. We damage our credibility and give away our power in a quest to be seen as “nice girls.”  In this interactive class, you’ll discover how to use direct language to state your mind with confidence, replace language that belittles us, and nonaggressively present yourself powerfully.

About our Speakers:

Janet Federico

Janet Federico is a trauma educator, licensed artist, award-winning author, and speaker from Washington, DC, now based in the Midwest. Her art has been on display at the Wichita Art Museum, the Wilson K. Cadman Art Gallery, City Arts, and InterUrban Art House, to name a few. An award-winning author, Janet has been featured in Elephant Journal, Writer’s Digest, and The Mighty.

In 2020, Janet launched Owl Medicine to provide greeting cards and art products for life’s “unspeakable” situations.

Janet is the former Executive Director of Thrive ICT, an organization devoted to providing long-term support to survivors of violence. In her continued advocacy efforts, Janet works to change the conversation around long-term survivorship and to educate others about the reality of living with trauma in the aftermath.

Janet holds a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction and a Master of Business Administration and is a Diamonds Graduate of the Gemological Institute of America.

Jill D. Miller

Jill D. Miller is passionate about helping people grow – professionally and personally. Award-winning book author, business development consultant, corporate trainer, Headmistress of the Finishing School for Modern Women, Wichita State University adjunct professor, Board Member of Camp Innovation Destination, Inc., and Wichita Professional Communicators, zealous volunteer, cultural event enthusiast, rescue poodle-owner, social butterfly.
